About

About Kingdom Strangers

Kingdom Strangers is about one idea: if you belong to Jesus, you're not from here. And you're sent here on purpose.

We make short posts, free guides and, soon, clothing. All of it points to the same three things: know Jesus, walk with him, and find your people in a local church.

Who's behind this

Kingdom Strangers is run by a follower of Jesus in the Austin, Texas area who serves in a local church. No face and no personal brand, so the focus stays on Jesus and the Bible. We're not a church, and we don't replace one. We point you to one.

Why the name

Peter wrote to Christians as people living far from home:

“Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul.”

1 Peter 2:11 NIV

Paul said it even more plainly:

“But our citizenship is in heaven.”

Philippians 3:20 NIV

And Jesus prayed that we wouldn't be pulled out of the world, but sent into it (John 17:15-18). That's the name. Strangers to the way this world does things, sent into it to love the people right next to us. Being "not from here" doesn't make us better than anyone. It means we know where we belong and why we're here.

What we believe

  1. The Bible is God's Word: inspired, true and our final authority for faith and life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 · 2 Peter 1:20-21
  2. God created all things. He is one God, eternally Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1 · Deuteronomy 6:4 · Matthew 28:19
  3. Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, born of a virgin, and lived without sin. John 1:1, 14 · Matthew 1:18-25 · Hebrews 4:15
  4. Everyone has sinned and needs God's grace. Romans 3:23 · Romans 6:23
  5. Jesus died for our sins and rose bodily from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 · 2 Corinthians 5:21
  6. Salvation is God's gift through faith in Jesus, not our good works. Repentance and a changed life are part of following him. Ephesians 2:8-10 · Romans 10:9 · Acts 3:19
  7. The Holy Spirit gives new life, lives in every believer, and empowers us to follow Jesus. We believe the gifts of the Spirit are still at work today, used in love and for building up the church. Acts 1:8 · 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 · Galatians 5:22-23
  8. Every believer belongs in a local church, sharing in worship, teaching, baptism and the Lord's Supper. Acts 2:38-42 · Hebrews 10:24-25 · 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
  9. Jesus will return, judge the world and make all things new. Acts 1:11 · Revelation 21:3-5
  10. Our citizenship is in heaven, and we are sent here on purpose to love and serve. Philippians 3:20 · John 17:18
